NEC Honey Bee Removal No2

The bees found a home on a walkway connecting the NEC and Network Rail Station, so lots of red tape and responsibilities with this one, months of planning, negotiation and preparation in this job, finally we had the go ahead. Using access platforms just meters from the high speed track we had to remove branches and the outer skin of the walkway whilst security cordoned off inside for public safety. After lots of trips up and down and hours later, we finally got access to the evil honey bees, lot of stings this day, these were super aggressive, we can only presume their main source of food is human made sweets, probably waste. We chased the bees out from inside with the smoker, collected them from outside whilst simultaneously removing comb from the area where they made their home. this job was two days in completion, management of the NEC paid us a visit regularly for updates and was very impressed with the end result. Bees were taken to quarantine ready to be later re-homed.
