Manor house honey bee rescue and removal

The bees found a home in between window and brick works through a tiny gap. We received a call when the bees started to come into the bedroom.
After checking where the bees were, we then found out there were two separate colonies. The customer had their own builder on site as they were already doing work, we liaised with him and discussed the best approach for us. We started to cut out the old panels at one side of the window and found a large colony, we removed the honey bees and then the comb, this was a very large colony and we decided for Rob to take the first colony of honey bees to the quarantine area whilst his partner made a start on the second colony on the other side of the window, this turned out to be a very small new colony and was easily removed. Glad we got in before the renovations in that room started and an extra bonus the builder said he would ‘make good’ so all we had to do was clean up after. Result!
