Ceiling bees cut out, removal and re-home
The bees found a home in above ceiling space on the first floor, only access we were able to make was from the bedroom, cutting into the ceiling. The wall paper had a strong sentimental value to the customer, so we had to work with extra care. We put down a lot of floor protection as we knew we were fighting with gravity with dripping honey! This colony has shared home with the owner for about three years, so well established, and massive store of honey which made the job very messy and sticky as well as being very intense, working with a bee suit that is head to toe covered in liquid gold. Collecting bees were easy, extracting combs heavily loaded with honey was not!
We managed non the less, another very happy customer who were a little sad to see the bees go. This colony was given another home at our quarantine apiary, living happy life again.
